Students Reflect on Repair and Relationships in Winter Term Character and School Values Workshop Week

Following the pattern set last term, the Upper School Winter Character and School Values Workshop Week ended with a debrief and the creation of a meaningful community artifact.

Inspired by the concept of kintsugi, the final workshop reflected on Repair and Relationships. Students wrote values important to them on colorful pieces of paper, then tore them. The pieces were reformed into a powerful community artwork, based on the top interpersonal relationship values they identified in the word cloud artifact created in September. Kintsugi, a Japanese art form, treats breakage and repair as part of an object's history.

Thank you to the members of the Science Department for overseeing this important project. The artifact is on view in the entry of the Science Building.
